Suspect pleads guilty to assault charge, denies robbing house
House robbery and assault suspect, Mr Justice Nobela, has denied guilt on a charge of house robbery in the local Malalane Periodical Court this past week.
MALALANE – House robbery and assault suspect, Mr Justice Nobela, has denied guilt on a charge of house robbery in the local Malalane Periodical Court this past week.
Nobela told the court that he was aware of the assault charge and intended to plead guilty, but he was not aware of the house robbery charge.
He is accused of breaking into a house and stealing cigarettes and condoms, after assaulting the owner.
Magistrate Mr Lucky Mhlanga, told Nobela that if he wished to see the charges against him, he was allowed to do so by requesting his case docket from the prosecutor.
Nobela received a warning on the charge of assault and was granted R1 000 bail on condition that he appears in court on all his set court dates.
After demanding to explain himself to the court despite being told that he would be given an opportunity to do so on his trail date, Nobela had to be forcefully removed from the stand by correctional services officials.
He was further remanded in police custody at the Nelspruit holding cells after failing to make bail.
