Province sends condolences ahead of minister’s memorial service

A memorial service for Mr Collins Chabane, who died in a car crash on Sunday is scheduled to be held today at the Tshwane Events Centre in Pretoria today.

MBOMBELA – Ahead of the funeral for the late minister of public service and administration, Mr Collins Chabane, the executive council of the provincial government has sent their condolences to his family.

Deputy president Mr Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to deliver the keynote address at the memorial service today.

The Mpumalanga government’s executive council has joined the rest of South Africans in sending their sincere condolences

on behalf of the government and the people Mpumalanga to the president Mr Jacob Zuma and the family of the late minister as well as the families of the Chabane’s protectors who were travelling with him.

The premier, Mr David Mabuza said the country had lost a deep thinker, who would not just comment unnecessary, an individual who was always peaceful.

“We have lost a very good cadre, he was a very humble someone. It is unbelievable that he is no more. On behalf of the government and people of Mpumalanga we wish to convey our sincere condolences to the president, the Chabane family as well as the families of the protectors who died with him,” Mabuza said.
