BURGERSFORT- A blazing inferno destroyed a town house at Aloe Ridge East at the Villa Della Salute complex recently.
The cause of the destructive fire is still unknown but firefighters, neighbours and the security staff from the National Guarding Services managed to prevent the the blaze from reaching other houses.
The good Samaritans helped to remove some of the items from the house. Xstrata Lion Ferrochrome projects division also arrived at the scene to provide assistance in combating the fire.
According to one of the neighbours, the fire was first spotted by kids who alerted their parents.
“The fire brigade arrived on time but they did not have the proper tools, they first struggled to open the hydrant and they also did not have the right nozzles for the hoses,” one neighbour said.
Const Victoria Maluleka of the local police said that a case was opened and their forensic team was still investigating the matter.
