MBOMBELA – The Auditor-General (AG) has awarded a trophy to the department of finance in recognition of its sterling performance.
The public finance management act (PFMA) award for clean audits was presented to the MEC for finance, Mr Eric Kholwane last week.
It is the second trophy that the AG has presented to the department in recognition of its clean audit outcomes.
The Mpumalanga Gambling Board also received a PFMA award.
Kholwane says it communicated an assuring statement to the people that the department has accounted for its entire R251,8 million budget in the 2013/14 financial year.
He says the provincial treasury will continue to lead efforts to improve transparency and accountability in administrative processes throughout the provincial and local government.
