MBOMBELA – Five men were arrested by police on Thursday, after an alleged housebreaking in West Acres. According to Mr Jacques Meiring, operational
manager of Bossies Community Justice (BCJ), they received a tip-off from a member of the public who had allegedly seen the men jump over the wall of a house in Koraalboom Street and made off in a Bantam bakkie.
They were apprehended in Enos Mabuza Drive.
The witness said the men had been carrying a big bag, but no such bag or goods thought to have been stolen, were found in the suspects’ possession.
According to Meiring three of the men are illegal immigrants from Mozambique, another is in the country legally and the fifth is a South African. The latter two were released by the SAPS, but the illegal immigrants are expected to be deported.
Nelspruit Concerned Citizens and Hi-Tech Security Nelspruit were also on the scene.
