Hundreds of cases reported to Integrity Managament Unit

Almost a 1 000 cases of misconduct were reported in 2014/15 , including complaints of assault.

MBOMBELA – As many as 401 complaints regarding corruption and irregularities were reported to the Integrity Management Unit in the previous financial year.

In response to a question by EFF MPL Mr Collen Sedibe during an oral reply session in legislature on Tuesday, the premier Mr David Mabuza said the unit had investigated and finalised 127 cases during the 2014/15 financial year.

These included complaints of corruption, fraud, misuse of state property and irregularities in the appointment of personnel.

A total of 954 cases of misconduct was also reported in the same financial year, of which 499 had been finalised. These alleged offences included assault, fraud and corruption, absenteeism, misuse of state property, negligence and insubordination.
