Patients can finally heave a sigh of relief as a steering committee was recently established at the Nelspruit Community Health Centre in Bell Street.
Nelspruit Post previously reported on this particular clinic after the paper had received numerous complaints of poor service delivery.
This much-needed step was taken after “the African National Congress councillor failed to move,” said Mr Jo Koster, DA caucus leader in the municipality. “Although the facility falls within Ward 14, the ANC councillor failed to move forward on the matter and the committee is composed of people mostly from wards 15, 16 and 17.”
According to Koster, the steering committee will be authorised by a community meeting in the second week of June.
“We look forward to trying and lifting the staff’s morale in future and at this stage we can say that they (the staff) are very supportive.”
