EFF in Mpumalanga’s pillars crumble

As many as 1 000 Economic Freedom Fighters denounced their membership over the weekend to join the ruling ANC in Mpumalanga.

MBOMBELA – It started with the resignation of the EFF’s chief whip in the provincial legislature on Monday, and culminated in 1 000 fighters  joining the ANC over the weekend.

Ms Ayanda Tshabalala announced her resignation from the Mpumalanga EFF last week, at the same time that party leader Mr Julius Malema started a week-long tour of the province.

On Saturday he addressed a large rally in Hazyview. The former fighters chose the same day to join the ANC.

ANC provincial secretary Mr Lucky Ndinisa was on hand to receive the former fighters into the fold at Nelspruit Rugby club.

Malema is due to appear in the High Court in Pretoria today where arguments will be heard over whether the provisional sequestration order regarding his outstanding tax bill should be lifted or made final.
