Couple threatened and robbed in home
On May 16 a 39-year-old male was robbed at Mzinti by two men who were allegedly known to him.
TONGA – According to the victim he was sleeping in his house, and his wife was sleeping in another room.
He was awoken by a strange sound, and noticed two armed suspects had gained entry to the house. One of them went to fetch the victim’s wife in the other room and returned with her.
They then demanded money from the couple and threatened to kill them if they didn’t comply. The suspects fled the scene on foot after robbing the couple of an undisclosed amount of cash as well as
a Nokia and Samsung cellphone.
Police are still investigating and appeal
to the community to help with information by contacting Lt Col Nancy Mnisi on
