Numbi Gate road blockaded once again

Parts of the R538 have reportedly been blockaded by community members as part of protest actions.

Motorists had to use alternative routes this morning when the R538 (Numbi Gate road) was blockaded at the Sand River bridge and near Mahushu. The blockade was part of the community’s protest actions and attempts to get running water for their community.

According to reports, the Numbi Gate was inaccessible from Hazyview, but the route from White River was still usable. The access between Tshabalala and Sand River was also closed off at one point.

Police were deployed to the scene.
