Once again, Komati Square in Komatipoort is being flooded with human excrement.

The situation has been addressed previously, but according to Mr Cyril Ripinga, spokesperson for the Nkomazi Local Municipality, to whom Corridor Gazette spoke to previously, there are many contributing factors. A wall that has been built on top of the sewage pipes seems to be the main problem.

Although the Municipality dealt with the problem a while ago, the stink does not want to die down and has become a rather continuous smelly affair.

Businesses in the complex lose money as the public recoils from wading through human waste in the parking area. It is a health hazard for all those working in the square. Drivers have no option but to park in the bubbling sewage.

A photo of the situation has immediately been sent to Ripinga by the Corridor Gazette.
