Don’t get caught without your slippers!

Help children reach for their dreams this winter.

MBOMBELA – Coffee and slippers go so well together, especially in the cold of winter. For ill children, however, slippers are often regular footwear. In support of children battling life-threatening illnesses, and to show solidarity with them at the same time, the Reach for a Dream Foundation has launched its annual Slipper Day.

By buying a Slipper Day sticker for only R10, participants not only support the foundation’s goals of helping children, but also get to wear their slippers on August 7. Last year R2,7 million was raised for children fighting life-threatening illnesses. Reach for a Dream believes in the power of dreams.

“We encourage children to use their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses. And we seek as far as possible to make dreams come true. Our vision is to grow the foundation, enabling us to continue giving hope to children fighting life-threatening illnesses through the fulfillment of their dreams, and to further help as many children facing these illnesses.”

Their ongoing national projects include Camp Sunshine, Queen for a Day, Captain Courage, Show you Care – Send a Bear and Jabulani Kingdom Hospital entertainment. The stickers are available at all Wimpy restaurants nationwide and if you buy your sticker there on Slipper Day, you get a free cup.

Don’t be left wondering, “Who are all these people in slippers?” on the day. To help the foundation to make children’s dreams come true, buy a sticker today.
