UPDATE: Missing girl found at boyfriend’s house
Barend believes Nikita ran away from home due to a fight between her and her father yesterday.
MBOMBELA – The whole city searched for her today and at around 15:00 Nikita Bloem (15) was found at her boyfriend’s house in Sandsteen Street.
Her father, Barend Bloem, said they had suspected her to be hiding there since yesterday.
“I was on a stake-out with one of my colleagues and members of Nelspruit Concerned Citizens (NCC) outside the boy’s house. It wasn’t 20 minutes before we saw movement.”
The dad phoned Mbombela SAPS to assist them in getting the girl and her boyfriend, Rico Schutte, to come out of the house.
“They took a few minutes to come out but they knew they couldn’t deny the police entry.”
Barend believes Nikita ran away from home due to a fight between her and her father yesterday.
“I caught her snogging her 19-year-old boyfriend on the bed. He was at my home without my consent. I think any father would be furious if his under-aged daughter behaved that way.”
Nikita and her dad are currently at the police station. “We are still waiting for Child Welfare to ask her a few questions before we can leave,” said Barend. “I don’t know if any charges will be pressed against Rico.”
Nikita’s mother, Amanda Rudman, wants to thank everyone who cooperated in locating her daughter.

Have you seen this girl?
MBOMBELA – A young girl and her small dog have been missing since yesterday afternoon.
The parents of 15-year-old Nikita Bloem have been frantic since their daughter did not return home yesterday. She left home with her dachshund, Marmite, and is suspected to be in the Sonheuwel-area.
She was last seen in Skalie Street, West Acres, with her 19-year-old boyfriend, yesterday at around 12:00.
“We went to her boyfriend’s house four times yesterday but he said he has not seen her, either,” said Nikita’s mother, Amanda Rudman. “However, we think he is lying.”
The girl’s mother and father attempted to open a missing person’s case at Mbombela SAPS where they were met with hostility. “The policeman said we can only open a missing person’s case if the person has been missing for 48 hours.”
According to Capt Dawie Pretorius, spokesman for Mbombela SAPS, this is not the case. “There is no such thing as waiting 48 hours. When a person is suspected to be missing, a case can be opened immediately,” he said.
If anyone has any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact Amanda 071-687-2697 or her father, Barend Bloem, on 079-513-0425.
