Annual spring dog walk proves fun for pets

A ragtag number of dogs (and a few cats) arrived at Sabie Eco Estate on August 30 for the fourth annual Hazyview Dog Walk.

Tails wagged and pet owners smiled at the annual Hazyview Dog Walk. The event is held around spring time each year to raise awareness about rabies and funds for White River Animal Hospital’s Welfare Fund.

Besides the chance to take an Sunday morning stroll through the estate for pets and owners, the animals each recived a free rabies injection during the event.

The dogs enjoyed splashing in the puddles they came across and there were some water points.

Dr Jana Ehlers, with the help of Lynda Bartholomew, vaccinated 130 animals, of which about 10 were cats.

A total of R5 000 was raised for the welfare fund which would be used to assist existing clients with unexpected vet bills.
