Improvements streets ahead of expectations

This is evident by the recent traffic-signal infrastructure upgrades taking place in Air Street

MALALANE – Construction work on the new Ingwe Shopping Centre has not only improved its infrastructure, but also the condition of streets in town.

This is evident by the recent traffic-signal infrastructure upgrades taking place in Air Street.

A whole new driving experience awaits shoppers, along with the highly anticipated opening of the Ingwe Shopping Centre.

Developers of this facility are introducing road and traffic-light upgrades around the Ingwe and Inkwazi centres. “As developers we need to ensure that customers can access both. As a result we are upgrading some of the infrastructure around both centres. Three traffic lights will be added, and the road leading to the taxi and bus rank will be widened,” explained developer, Mr Lex Hollman.

In Air Street the existing main entrance into Inkwazi will in future operate with a four-way traffic light. Furthermore improvements are being introduced to the existing pedestrian traffic lights in Impala Street, which will now make provision for vehicles making way onto and from Air Street.

The road in Impala Street, leading towards the buses and taxi rank, is being widened to make it two lanes leading into the complexes, and one exiting.

Paved walkways also form part of improvements being made in Impala Street, to make accessibility easier.

Construction work started on October 19 and is expected to

be finished before Christmas

this year.
