Grade sevens are perfect ladies and gentlemen
"We allowed the learners to practise - the boys had to stand up and pull the chairs out for all the ladies, and had to let the ladies enter first and all the things which should be done by a gentleman," said coach Benson Rewu.

On the evening of November 25 Barberton Primary held an event for all the grade sevens in the school hall.
The function was aptly titled, “Ladies and Gentlemen Evening” and according to coach Benson Rewu, the idea was to equip learners with life values on how to behave like a lady and like a gentleman.
“The learners had to dress in suits and dresses and everyone looked glamorous.
“We allowed the learners to practise – the boys had to stand up and pull the chairs out for all the ladies, and had to let the ladies enter first and all the things which should be done by a gentleman,” said Rewu.
Other speakers were Patrys Byleveld and grade seven teachers Claudia Matthee and Sanet Roos. Byleveld addressed the pupils on purity and Roos and Matthee gave an inspiring speech on what it entailed to be a lady and a gentleman.
After having enjoyed a lovely spread and soft drinks arranged by coach Sheraldene Booysen, the dance floor was opened and everyone was in high spirits.
“Thank you very much to each and every person who took the time to help make this function successful – we are all meant to be treated like ladies and gentlemen,” said Rewu.
