Stakeholders enjoy a festive treat
Attendees spoke about the school's commitment in involving parents and other school governing bodies in its processes.
MBOMBELA – As the academic year comes to an end, various schools around the city are hosting events to thank various stakeholders for their involvement in the schools’ well-being.
On Thursday Lowveld High School (LHS) hosted its own thank-you function to express its gratitude to its sponsors. It took place on the school premises and attendees were spoilt to scrumptious food and drinks.
LHS deputy principal, Mr Chris de Klerk said without the community’s participation it wouldn’t run as efficiently as it did, and for that the school was indebted to the community and its sponsors.

De Klerk said Lowveld High is a school for the people, hence it was easy for members of the public and organisations to support it. “We also offer our assistance to the community through projects like the Lions Club and others, it’s our way of saying thank you to those who rally behind us in times of need,” he said.

De Klerk added that the school had a long-standing partnership with the people it served and that assisted LHS in running its affairs adequately.
According to him, Lowveld High also runs a child-welfare project to help needy and underprivileged learners. Among others, the team identifies the pupils who need help and collects clothing items and food parcels for them.

Ms Anne Lombard’s kids were at the school and for her LHS assisted in instilling a sense of purpose in them. “There’s a long-standing relationship between my family and Lowveld High School. My 37-year-old son also went to the school,” she said.

The sponsors assisted the school with sports kits, money for their academic and social events and also health kits for their sports teams.
