The Robbies’ Class of 2015 receive 124 distinctions

A happy and excited atmosphere surrounded Hoërskool Rob Ferreira when the 2015 matriculants went to fetch their results on Wednesday morning.

Chatting to the various groups that were discussing their results, many said they did much better than they had expected, while others were just happy to have passed.

The school’s pass rate went up five per cent from last year to 99,2 per cent.

Mr Dawie Oberholzer, the headmaster, believes this success is due to the hard work and dedication of his staff. “The teachers proved that they could get all the pupils to achieve great results despite many challenges,” he praised them. He continued by saying that he was satisfied with this year’s results taking the degree of difficulty of the exam papers into account.

The school’s top achievers are Anojan Satkunananatha with six distinctions, Edward Hall, Amanda Muchocho and Llewellyn Pillay with five distinctions and Kghomotso Mogakane, Lerato Ndashe and Shezree Tiel with four.

Anojan was very modest about his success and said that he would be heading to the University of Cape Town (UCT) to study accounting this year. A few of his peers will also be heading to UCT and the University of Johannesburg to further their studies.

A total of 124 distinctions were achieved: six pupils with three, 15 with two and 43 with one. A group of 87 pupils received exemption for a BA degree.
