MASHISHING – A man was stabbed to death on Thursday January 28 in Extension 2 after an argument with a friend.

According to Lydenburg Police spokesman, Sgt Elizabeth Selwaletau Magoa, the police were called to attend to a complaint in Mashishing and on their arrival they found a man with a stab wound to his chest.

“The paramedics certified Mr S’fiso Mdluli dead on the scene,” she said.

When the police arrived the suspect had already fled. “The landlord of the victim said she had heard him and the suspect arguing about a cellphone. She was sitting inside the house when she heard the argument.

“The suspect and the victim later walked into the house. “The suspect was holding a knife in his hand and the victim suddenly collapsed. While the people were focusing on the man on the ground, the suspect disappeared,” said Magoa.

“The police have arrested the suspect and are currently investigating the case,” she concluded.
