LYDENBURG – Pneuma Ministries in Mbombela demonstrated that indeed the kingdom of God is about serving and being a blessing to others by refurbishing Estralita Special School on Saturday.
More than 30 families from the church came together to paint the school’s recreational television rooms, the poles in corridors between the buildings, do repairwork needed around the school, replace all the pillow cases with hospital grade protective cases and to put protective plastic on all the matrasses in the hostels and donated toys.
According to Mr Jacques Goosen, the pastor of Pneuma Ministries, the initiative started when Dante Gerber, a young girl of the church visited the school during a school trip. “When Dante arrived home she shared the situation at the school with her parents, who in turn informed the church. As a church we felt we had to assist,” he said.
“Thank you to Estralita Special School for allowing us to serve them and show them the love of Christ. We would like to express gratitude to everyone who travelled to Lydenburg, our contributors Union Motors, Mega Paints Nelspruit, Prominent Paint Nelspruit, GT Auto, Divergent Ops, Nelspruit Day Hospital, Tubatse Build It and Sonica Burger,” said Goosen.
According to Ms Hanlie Swanepoel, the principal of Estralita Special School, no words can ever thank them enough for everything the congregation did for them. “They put a smile on every learner and staff member’s’ face. May God bless Pastor Goosen and the church abundantly,”
