Families get together for movies and munchies

LYDENBURG – The local CANSA branch held a family movie night on Friday at the NG Suid-gemeente. Families came out with their chairs, blankets and enjoyed a night with family while snacking on popcorn.
The money raised that evening went towards funding the care and support programme that CANSA offers. According to the chairman of the CANSA Lydenburg branch, Isobel Janse van Rensburg, the support that they got from the community was great. She expressed her gratitude, “Thank you to the NG Suid-gemeente for the venue, Kobus Pretorius for the sound and the team from Grab & Munch for supplying the snacks,” she said.
The Lydenburg branch will be hosting the CANSA Shavathon on February 27 at various spots around town. The shavathon is one of the most-loved events to show support for those affected by cancer. For more information contact Isobel on
