BURGERSFORT – GH Mumm, a well-known champagne producer located in France, introduced its unique champagne to a few selected guests that were invited for an out-of-this-world experience, to taste three different varieties of the product at the Thaba Moshate Casino.
Ambassador for GH Mumm Champagne, Sixtine De Laleu, gave a brief but informative presentation explaining the process of creating the perfectly blended champagne.
She explained how different grapes are combined to create the desired taste. “It is definitely not something that South Africans are used to, it is soft on the tongue and the bubbles are essentially small in comparison to what we are used to here,” said Marune Briel, taster of the three assorted champagnes.
GH Mumm wants its champagne to become famous in South Africa, reaching a new target market. De Laleu explained the history of the champagne and how far it has developed until today.
She mentioned that the first champagne contained 190 grams of sugar and what we drink nowadays only consists of six grams of sugar, showing clearly how far it has developed. The guests were entertained by local artist Ntsikwane, who sang some of her original songs, and a few covers of other artists.
The guests enjoyed her pure voice.
De Laleu said there is definitely a market for GH Mumm Champagne in South Africa, and that everyone should experience its uniqueness.
