Mayor delivers on promises to build bridges for the community

Meanwhile Mr Bongani Ngele from Bothashoek confirmed that his community was satisfied with the bridge's progress. "I'm relieved that GTM has finally heeded pleas by the Bothashoek community for a bridge. The new bridge will make it easier for everyone to access schools," he said.

BURGERSFORT – Within weeks after delivering his State of the Local Municipality Address (Solma), it looks like some of the Greater Tubatse Municipality (GTM) mayor Ralepane Mamekoa’s promises are on the verge of being fulfilled.

During the speech, the mayor said, “We have indicated in the past that due to the geographical terrain of our municipality, our focus was on the construction of the access bridges to connect villages to one another.”

Steelburger/Lydenburg News can now confirm that the Mabocha access bridge in Legwareng, the Bothashoek access bridge and the Mafarafara bridge are taking shape.

Mamekoa indicated that the municipality was also planning t6 erect access bridges at Ga Motshana, Diphale/Makhwaya and Mpuru villages.

“Those bridges will be completed at the end of the first quarter of the 2016/17 financial year,” he added.

Meanwhile Mr Bongani Ngele from Bothashoek confirmed that his community was satisfied with the bridge’s progress. “I’m relieved that GTM has finally heeded pleas by the Bothashoek community for a bridge. The new bridge will make it easier for everyone to access schools,” he said. Echoing his sentiments was a host of community members from Mafarafara and Mabocha villages.
