More than just surprises are found in a glass of wine
The August Wine-tasting Guild meeting was a memorable event when it held a 75th birthday surprise for a member, Brian Whitehorn.
LYDENBURG – The August Wine-tasting Guild meeting was a memorable event when it held a 75th birthday surprise for a member, Brian Whitehorn.
The guild met last Thursday at Café Crust.At every meeting, a speaker does a presentation about the wines of the day.
Under discussion were various wines such as a Lucca Prosecco, (a sparkling wine from Italy), Rainbow End Cabernet Franc 2014, Fairview Caldera 2008, Vergelegen DNA 2012, Thelema Muscat de Frontignan 2015, which was voted as “the value for money” wine, and Saronsberg Red Bordeaux Blend 2012 that was voted the wine of the evening.
The Wine-tasting Guild meets every third Thursday of a month at different venues in town.
