GTM traffic lights now upgraded

"The traffic lights are now synchronised and are timed for busier periods of the day. This will reduce traffic during peak hours. I believe motorists will obey the road rules as the flashing time of the robots have changed."

BURGERSFORT – Motorists can now manoeuvre with ease through town as the traffic lights have been upgraded by the Greater Tubatse- Fetakgomo Local Municipality (GTM).

Speaking to the Steelburger/Lydenburg News, Mr Moses Mosoma from GTM’s Traffic Department said this was aimed at limiting accidents in town.

“The traffic lights are now synchronised and are timed for busier periods of the day. This will reduce traffic during peak hours. I believe motorists will obey the road rules as the flashing time of the robots have changed.”

Mosoma added that this will have a positive influence on traffic flow. “All the traffic lights are operating. There will also be improvements on roads and road signs,” he promised.

Taxi driver, Mr Kabelo Phala thanked the municipality for the upgrades. “I was concerned last week when I noticed that they were all out of order. It shows the municipality did their homework. Conducting business will now be easier for the taxi industry, ” Phala said.
