The driver of the notorious gold-coloured Volkswagen Polo and his accomplice, alleged to have embarked on a crime spree over the past couple of days, has just been arrested.

Some of the crimes in which the suspects were allegedly involved, include an attempted hijacking at Bagdad Centre on Monday as well as an attempted vehicle theft at Hall & Sons fuel station on the N4 on the same day. “We have confirmed that it was the same vehicle used in the latter attempt, but are, however, yet to confirm the former,” said Serg Cynthia Mbokodo, spokesperson for White River Police Station.

She confirmed that the vehicle, appearing to be a rental, was heading toward Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport when the suspects were arrested.
