LYDENBURG – Do you believe in ghosts? We are looking for this town’s supernatural side.
Ghosts and ghostly appearances have fascinated people for millions of years. Whether you believe in the supernatural or not, human curiosity usually gets the better of you and you tend to wonder about its existence.
Believe it or not, South Africa has a lot of famous ghosts that roam the country. One of the most infamous must be that of the Uniondale hitchhiker: A young woman who stands alone alongside the lonely stretch of road between Uniondale and Willowmore. When people stop to offer her a lift, she gets into the car and then – unsettlingly – vanishes.
Lydenburg is one of the oldest towns in the country. Surely there must have been some encounters readers would like to share with us?
