Long Tom Pass reopened

According to Deon Broekman of Rapid Response, the trucks collided head-on just after 21:00 last night (Thursday).

LYDENBURG – The Long Tom Pass was reopened at 04:00 this morning.

This follows after the entire road was closed for a couple of hours on account of a head-on collision by two haul trucks.

Only one lane was accessible after rescue personnel started with the clean-up of the scene before the trucks were removed.

According to Deon Broekman of Rapid Response, the trucks collided head-on just after 21:00 last night (Thursday).

“The pass was closed to ensure proper clean-up of the scene. One lane was made accessible shortly after. Early this morning the trucks were recovered and we reopened the entire road.”
