Fire cause extensive damage in reserve

Besides the damaged caused by the fire, this 2200 reserve is also being crippled by severe poaching.

LYDENBURG – A fire raged through the Klingbiel Nature Reserve on Tuesday night causing extensive damage to hundreds of hectares.
Fire chief, Deon Broekman of Rapid Response, immediately responded to the fire. The dried veld was burning from several directions, but firefighters, volunteers and personnel of the reserve managed to keep it under control.
According to John Roos of this reserve, they will definitely suffer severe wildlife loss on account of the fire. Besides the damaged caused by the fire, this 2200 reserve is also being crippled by severe poaching.
