Town boasts princess of universal standards
Windy has been passionate about modelling since her days at primary school. To polish her modelling skills, she joined the BP Tubatse Modelling Academy in 2017.
BURGERSFORT – Local lass, Windy Vilakazi obtained the second princess crown in the Miss Mini Teen South Africa Universal at a glittering ceremony in Kempton Park last Saturday. The main crown was clinched by Bothlale Bemoya from Johannesburg. The competition was entered by more than 50 pageants nationwide.
The 14-year-old Vilakazi from Mashifane Park also holds the Miss Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) teen crown.
Windy has been passionate about modelling since her days at primary school. To polish her modelling skills, she joined the BP Tubatse Modelling Academy in 2017.
Speaking to Steelburger/Lydenburg News, the grade nine pupil at St Thomas’ College said she is grateful for the support she has received from her family and the people of Tubatse.
“I wanted to put Tubatse higher on the map, and with the support I got from residents I achieved my dream. I thank all people who voted for me to be the runners-up in the pageants.”
Windy said her dream is to one day compete for the Miss South Africa title. “After winning FTLM teen, and being the second princess in the Miss Mini Teen SA, I realised anything is possible in this world. I now dream big and crave more crowns.”
