Access to information, business advice and support services are now within reach for businesses in Lydenburg

This is a Glencore Lydenburg Smelter initiative in partnership with Regoapele Capital to stimulate proactive citizenry through entrepreneurship and local business advancement

The Local Enterprise Development (LED) Hub was officially opened last Thursday, November 1, at the Sand Court Building.
Regoapele Capital’s business development and support solutions were built on the knowledge that many entrepreneurs and business owners may be doing well in the operations of their businesses, but most often need support when it comes to managing and administering their businesses. This shortcoming not only limits the ability to optimize operations and solicit more business but also creates a challenge particularly when it comes to seeking external finance for their businesses, and actually growing their businesses such that they can create jobs.
With origins as a financial services firm specializing in financial advice and intermediary services, business planning, capital raising, accounting and tax, Regoapele Capital was compelled to enlarge its business consultancy to provide a range of business and financial management solutions to help its SME clients go over the hurdles in their businesses. This was particularly important to do – especially as professional financial advisers – because the business and personal finances (and well-being) of business owners or entrepreneurs are inseparably linked.
“Having a deep understanding of business and finance, and being committed to our clients’ personal and business goals, we made it our mission to combine our experience, acumen, knowledge and broad skillsets to offer valuable business development solutions that drive development, growth and value creation,” said Katlego Kenoshi of Regoapele Capital.
“Partnered with Glencore Lydenburg Smelter we have together built a formidable team that is committed to building and nurturing the local economy by encouraging small business creation and providing dedicated business support and development through the LED Hub.
“Our shared cause and core objective is to develop local SMEs that would not just survive their first three to five years, but become businesses that are sustainable and built to endure and strengthen the local economy.”
The LED Hub provides a space where small growing businesses in Lydenburg/Mashishing can access shared office space with on-site business support. This is a cost effective way of having an office without having to incur the capital cost of setting one up, and a heavy rental overhead.
“One would have flexible desk space when one needs it, office infrastructure, Wi-Fi connectivity, boardroom facilities, as well as office refreshments in a professional, interactive, highly entrepreneurial and supportive setting.
“Our team of business consultants and back-office support staff is ably supported by financial practitioners, including business analysts, chartered accountants, financial managers and financial advisers, as well as other professionals in HR, legal, and sales and marketing,” Kenoshi said.
“Our greatest work at the LED Hub is that of development – delivering interventions that are designed to address skills and capability gaps that are common to many small growing businesses, as well as those that we have uniquely identified through our assessments.
“These activities are particularly to build business acumen; to develop management, financial and business technical skills; and to build human and business capacity.”
The LED Hub will play a vital role in helping local SMEs reach their potential and strengthening their integration into the economy, while nurturing a vibrant and diverse local business ecosystem.
“We invite and embolden entrepreneurs and small business owners to make full use of the LED Hub and the services offered which are geared to assist them to do better, grow and flourish in business,” Kenoshi added. Contact them on 013-492-2091 or 011-234-0676
