Eskom load-shedding; Lydenburg schedule

LYDENBURG – The town is sceduled for Eskom load shedding from 23:00 – 01:30 tonight.

“The outages are a result of an increase in generation plants being out for both planned maintenance and unplanned outages,” Eskom said.

The town should be effected by Eskom’s stage 1 shedding

The power giant confirmed that Stage 1 load-shedding requires 1,000MW of power to be saved across the country.

The organization is thus asking customers to switch off geysers and non-essential lighting and appliances.

Eskom warned that the risk of outages are increasing due to a significant decline in coal at its power stations.w
