The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) hosted the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences, or AARTO Friday, in Mbombela.

VIDEO: Dr Kaine Monyepao, the deputy registrary for the strategy development, explained the purpose of AARTO Friday.

It is a community activation programme. The RTIA has adopted the AARTO Friday campaign to take services closer to the road-using community.

Motorists were assisted to check their AARTO infringement status and advised on how to resolve their infringements by selecting from the available legislated elective options.

AARTO will be implemented throughout South Africa as from July 1.

The agency launched the AARTO Service Outlet in Mbombela last year on December 18. On January 18, it is the first to be launched and be fully operational outside Gauteng.
