De Hallen offers convenience and luxury like never before
The official opening of the first phase of the upmarket de Hallen centre took place last week.

The excitement in the air was palpable as customers and stakeholders waited for the news shops to open their doors for the first time.
This luxury centre offers anchor tenants such as KWIKSPAR and TOPS at SPAR, as well as distinctive restaurants, lifestyle outlets and destination shops.
Located in a prime spot on the corner of Ferreira and Wilhelm streets, this neighbourhood convenience centre exemplifies comfort, luxury, convenience and leisure.

The words “de hallen” means “the hall”, hence the slogan “the place to meet”.
“The initial planning started in 2018. The application for rights was submitted in 2019. In 2020 approval was obtained, demolition took place and construction started – all amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The City of Mbombela has already granted approval for us to proceed with phase 2 of this amazing development. This will include the residential property at the back, a hotel, more shops, restaurants and luxury apartments to complete our mixed-use offering.
We are passionate about our community and look forward to become part of the lives of the locals by providing a convenient place to stop for bread and milk, but also and a place to meet and enjoy a glass of wine over a meal,” said Jan Cronje, representing de Hallen.

SPAR Lowveld quick off the mark with second store
SPAR Lowveld has opened its second KWIKSPAR in one week with the latest being at the De Hallen centre on the corner of Ferreira and Wilhelm streets.
The first one was at Belladonna Centre. To enhance the offering, a TOPS at SPAR is located next to the new KWIKSPAR. Both stores boast trading space of almost 230 square metres.

A total of 26 new jobs were created with the opening of these two stores. The KWIKSPAR will be open from 06:00 to 21:00 every day, and the TOPS at SPAR as per government trading hours.

Kerneels Kunneke, manager of KWIKSPAR, said he was satisfied with how it went during the first weekend of trading.
“We look forward to a great future for our store. Our design is beautiful and modern, and we are especially proud of our fresh offering,” he said. Nick de Clercq, manager of TOPS at SPAR at De Hallen, is excited about what lies ahead. “Unfortunately, we could not trade over the Easter weekend, but the Thursday before the weekend surpassed our wildest expectations. We were extremely busy.
“We are very proud of our premier selection and offer a wide range of products.” Both stores thanked the Mbombela community for its support.
