Pro Gratia multiplies fun with maths in second Olympiad
Pro Gratia Learning Centre hosted its Math Olympiad on June 1.
This followed the school’s first Olympiad that tested the pupils’ language skills earlier last month.
“We had 39 learners between the ages of eight to 21 participating,” Ansie Viljoen, deputy principal of Pro Gratia, said. “Both the Language and Math Olympiad boosted the learners’ confidence.”
According to Viljoen, the learners’ mathematical problem-solving skills were tested.

“It showed the learners that maths, too, can be fun,” she said.
Certificates and prizes were awarded to all the learners who participated, and in the categories of overall top achiever, and first, second and third place in each class.
Viljoen said the school was aiming to host this initiative annually. “I think next year we will have even more entries,” she said.
