Lowveld Nomads generously donates R450 000 to grateful local NGOs
Lowveld Nomads gave the donations to three local NGO's on Sunday, November 15.
Pediatric Care Africa (PCA) recently received a sizable donation of R150 000 from Lowveld Nomads.
The PCA secretary, Surika van der Merwe, said the donation came from funds raised by Lowveld Nomads throughout the year and was presented to it and two other Lowveld non-governmental organisations at the Nomads’ annual Andrew Mantis Golf Day at Mbombela Golf Club on November 15.
Van der Merwe said, “PCA was one of the privileged recipients of this very generous donation and it is very thankful for receiving the amount of R150 000.”
She said the cheque was handed over at Lowveld Nomads’ Golf Day prize giving to the founder and head of PCA, Dr André Hattingh, by the captain of the Nomads, Rudi Nel.

“Nelspruit Hospice and the Meyer Beukes Warriors on Wheels Foundation also received R150 000 each from Rudi Nel at the prize giving ceremony,” said Van der Merwe.
She said PCA would be using the donated funds to procure medical equipment to be used at outreaches and for its 4×4 medical assistance.
“We will put proper signage on our Land Cruiser, and if we are lucky a closed trailer for transporting goods that cannot be exposed to the elements,” said Van der Merwe.
“We had a fabulous Sunday lunch as guests of the Lowveld Nomads and we do not know how to thank it for its hospitality and generosity.
“To our hosts, Karen Bullen and Hannetjie Douglas of Lowveld Nomads, who kept us company and entertained us the whole afternoon, we enjoyed and appreciate your kindness, warmth and humour. Thank you,” said Van der Merwe.
