IN PHOTOS: Arts and crafts classes delight all at Bietjie-bietjie-Bos festival

As part of the Bietjie-bietjie-Bos festival, several arts and crafts classes were hosted at Nitali Re-Invented Decor on Thursday December 2.

The first class of the day was cartoon drawing with Ghost. A small gathering of men, women and children sat at large wooden tables in the shop, while Ghost conducted his class with his black marker and paper on an easel for all to see.

With patience and a lot of enthusiasm, Ghost showed his audience step by step how to draw various cartoon characters, from pirates to dogs and chefs. Some students had even travelled from White River to enjoy the experience.

Next on the schedule was painting wooden houses. This was also done at Nitali Re-invented Decor. With art lover Annelie Mans as the instructor, people painted and decorated little wooden houses.

Mans created little beach houses, while others made Christmas-themed houses to go under their Christmas trees.

The last art class for the day was watercolour painting for beginners with instructor Elani Dekker. She spoke to her class about watercolour paints and how they differ from other mediums, as well as various painting technique.

Each of the art classes were well attended, with more to come over the weekend.

Saturday will see Dekker back at Nitali for watercolour painting at 09:30, followed by creating wall hangings at 12:00. Nitali will also host the making of polymer earrings on Saturday December 4 at 14:30. Make sure to catch these classes and let your creativity flow.
