Nkomazi Municipality calls for inspection of the general valuation roll lodging objections

Nkomazi Municipality releases municipal notice in terms of local government: Municipal Property Rates Act 6 of 2004.

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 49 (1) (a) (i) read together with Section 78(2) of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act 6 of 2004 (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”) that the general valuation roll for the financial year July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2027 is open for public inspection at the municipal venues listed below, from February 7, 2022 to April 8, 2022, Monday to Friday during working hours.

An invitation is hereby made in terms of Section 49(1) (a) (ii) read together with Section 78(2) of the Act that any owner of property or other person who so desires, should lodge an objection with the municipal manager in respect of any matter reflected in, or omitted from, the valuation roll within the above-mentioned period.

Attention is specifically drawn to the fact that in terms of Section 50(2) of the Act an objection must be in relation to a specific individual property and not against the valuation roll as such. Completed forms must be returned before 12:00 on April 8, 2022.

Malalane-Komatipoort-Marloth Park offices.

Please note: Objections will not be attended to by the municipality, unless it is timeously lodged on the prescribed objection form and submitted at the above-mentioned venues.
