Romano Projects and Trading in Steelpoort are leaders in the field of high-density polyethene (HDPE) pipes, dam linings, grass cutting, tree felling, bee removal, plumbing and drain unblocking.

The company was established in 2006 and is a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor and is a 100% blackowned company. Romano is a multifaceted organisation, employing more than fifty people. The company has been modelled and steered to success by the Glencore Local Supplier Development programme.

“We initially specialised in soft services provision, but we have since diversified and have grown into the HDPE piping and drain maintenance services. Romano is owned by a young professional with firm technical expertise in the mining industry which puts the company in a competitive space. Romano continues to offer services to Glencore and will be forever grateful for the opportunities afforded by Glencore.” said Nhlanhla Mbuyane, office administrator.

Nene Marebane, company director, indicated that Romano is looking at expanding their footprint in Fetakgomo, Tubatse and Sekhukhune districts.

The aim is to ultimately increase employment opportunities for local residents. The company also does the installation and fabrication of HDPE bends, tee pieces, laterals and reducers, plastic pipes, dam linings and sheet welding. Its welding methods include butt welding, electrofusion, hot air, socket, and extrusion welding.

They offer domestic and industrial garden maintenance services. It includes bush clearing, tree felling, removal of alien species, weeding, pruning, and trimming.
