New spot for White River Hospice Shoppe

This hospice shop recently moved to a new location and still needs your support as ever.

There is a new shop in town wanting your support.  Hospice White River has moved its shop to 12A Peter Graham Street next to Hi-Tech’s office, and had its opening day on Saturday.

The manager of this hospice, Terran Gericke, said the move was merely because the other premises became too small, so they needed to expand. “We also wanted to be more geographically accessible to everybody from all walks of life, and of course, we are here to generate much-needed funds.

“Thrifting has also become fashionable and everybody wants to reuse. There is this whole recycle/upcycle movement and that is what we are also trying to accomplish.”

The new shop has a variety of items from which to choose, including clothing (shoes, jackets, suits and more), books, DVDs, CDs, cameras, binoculars, expensive collectable plates, vases, linen, day-to-day kitchen utensils, a few furniture pieces and a kiddies corner.

Gericke mentioned that when it comes to donations, they would like to receive more household items, including cutlery and crockery.  Although decently stocked for the moment, stock and volunteers are what the shop needs right now. That being said, Gericke mentioned that an unbelievable amount of help went into getting the shop ready for the opening and thanked everyone who had lent a hand.
