Riders tested to the limit at eduro

June 4 marked the start of round 3 of the Lowveld series, the much-anticipated and loved Hazyview Enduro, on the Perry's Bridge mac farm, hosted by the Lowveld Enduro Club.

Months of preparation takes place before such an event in order to provide competitive and signature routes only the Lowveld can offer.

Bush clearing, bridge building, and route marking and plotting were meticulously planned by the Lowveld Enduro Club’s route director and marshals.  Two-hundred and eighty riders lined up bright and early to head out on the three gruelling routes, most of which needed to be completed multiple times. Entries filled all 18 classes with three routes to follow: a 10km pink route for beginners, small bikes and weekend warriors, a 25km green route and a challenging 25km red route that could only be ridden with GPS.

And the much-loved Sprockets race was held at the end for all teeny, tiny, budding enduro riders.  It was a tough day in the saddle for the riders as they negotiated some technical pieces with mud, rivers and rocky climbs! Bridges had to be built over the rivers to make them more manageable and the marshals were out and about to help the riders out of some hair-raising situations.

The Hazyview Enduro was attended by more than 800 people. Riders, family, pit crew and supporters filled the pits for a whole day of excitement and adrenaline.  Lowveld Enduro Club’s sponsors and partners pull out all the stops for each event, without which these races would not be possible.
