One dead in car accident near Numbi Park

An accident near Numbi Park on the R40 between Hazyview and White River, wherein one person died, resulted in the road being closed for several hours this afternoon, June 11.

Moeti Mmusi, the spokesperson for the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, said the accident had involved two vehicles, an SUV and a sedan, and had occurred at 17:00.

The deceased was an occupant of the sedan, while six people in the SUV sustained serious injuries, said Mmusi.

According to him, the road will be opened with a stop-and-go shortly.
