Eight schools’ players have a ball at soccer and netball tournament
The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, in which each finalist received a trophy and medals. All participating schools received sports bags, caps, stationery, bibs, water bottles and many other goodies.
The much-anticipated annual Build it u/13 tournament was played at Mosebu Primary School in Ga Mashamothane on May 28.
Eight local schools participated in this sporting extravaganza. The tournament, sponsored by Build it, also served as Tubatse SAPS’s Sports Against Crime event. Pupils participated in netball and soccer.
Attendees included parents, representatives of Tubatse SAPS and the Tubatse Circuit, and members of Safa in the
Sekhukhune region. Participating schools included Batubatse, Marota, Mangabane, Nthlatlole, Manoke,
Maelebe, Mafemane and the host, Mosebu Primary.
All the kids hoped to claim the bragging rights of being the Build it champions for 2022. These young footballers and netballers drew inspiration from speeches delivered by the sponsors and guests.
The teams were divided into two groups (pools A and B) with four teams per group, playing according to a round-robin format.
The teams that accumulated the most points qualified for the knockout showdown.

The winner in the soccer competition was Mosebu Primary, while Maelebe Primary won the netball tournament.

The management of Build it said it cares about local communities.
“This was a way to give back to our local communities and to improve sports in Tubatse. We wish to see some of our boys and girls participating and playing professional sports in the coming years. The tournament was also to appreciate Build it’s customers.”
Build it thanked the participants, parents and the organising committee for a successful soccer tournament.
