Karen Zoid rocks Mbombela at Blue Moon

The legendary Afrikaans singer had the whole of Blue Moon dancing and cheering on Saturday, July 2.

Lowvelders, both young and old, came out in their numbers to watch the one and only Karen Zoid at Blue Moon on Saturday night, July 2.

Blue Moon pulled out all the stops for the much-anticipated show with an excellent line-up of local artists warming up the large crowd before Zoid performed.

Local band DARE to Believe gave a stellar rock performance, followed by award-winning South African band Saarkie.

As soon as Saarkie had finished their set, audience member began chanting for Zoid to perform.

Wearing a fur coat to match the rest of her band members, Zoid was welcomed on to the stage by a mass of cheers and resounding applause from the crowd, with some of them travelling from as far as Harties and Sabie to watch the Afrikaans music legend perform.

Zoid performed several of her most-popular songs as the audience sang along, reaching out their hands in the hopes of grabbing Zoid’s hand.

At one stage, Zoid climbed over the railing of the stage, taking photos with fans and even using fans phones to film herself and the crowd, which amassed loud cheers.
