WATCH: West Acres residents escape gunmen
Two gunmen opened fire at two residents as they stopped at the gate to their property.
The police are investigating an incident in which two residents were shot at by armed men in West Acres yesterday evening, July 18.
A man and his brother-in-law had just arrived at the gate to their property in West Acres at about 19:10, when a Toyota Etios Cross pulled up behind them.
Two men allegedly got out of the vehicle and began shooting at them. One resident’s quick thinking saw him reverse out the driveway and up the road to avoid the gunmen.

The brother-in-law sustained minor injuries to his face due to shattered glass from a bullet going through their vehicle’s windscreen.
Securicon Lowveld was on scene and the police arrived shortly afterwards.
The shots were heard in various parts of Mbombela. Lowvelders took to social media and WhatsApp community groups, asking what had happened.
Lowvelder was also on the scene and counted about seven bullet casings along the street.
