Community of Mpumalanga tourism celebrates Nelson Mandela in Numbi

The tourism group cleaned up various sites leading to Numbi when they did their part on Nelson Mandela Day.

The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) and tourism safety stakeholders celebrated Mandela Day at George Mhaule Primary School in the Numbi area by embarking on a clean-up campaign and giving back to the local community.

The celebration saw the MTPA collaborating with the Kruger National Park, the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, the Ehlanzeni District Municipality, Nkambeni Safari Lodge, as well as Mdluli Safari Lodge.

The celebrations included a clean-up campaign on various sites leading to Numbi, the planting of indigenous trees as well as the donation of food parcels to five of the day care and home-based care centres around the Numbi area.

This year’s Mandela Day focused on promoting safety and cleanliness around communities as well as indigenous tree planting. The MTPA said that every action counts and all stakeholders involved took part in giving back to the local community of Numbi.
