Burgersfort SAPS’ Operation Basadi a resounding success
Maluleke advised the communities to break the silence on domestic violence and all different forms of abuse on women and children.
BURGERSFORT – The local women in blue embarked on Operation Basadi on Friday.
Since August is regarded as Women’s Month, the station commander of Burgersfort SAPS, Brigadier Augustine
Mboyi, and her team organised an operation led by females.
The operation involved door to door at Burgersfort Ext 10, a visit to the Manoke Lutheran Church, visits to local schools and donations of food parcels to needyfamilies.

Women from the Limpopo’s health department, social development, correctional services and Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality’s traffic department, also joined the operation.
According to the Burgersfort SAPS’s communications officer, Sergeant Victoria Maluleke, the theme for the operation was, “Say No to Gender-Based Violence (GBV)”.
“We also interacted with the community on GBV and distributed pamphlets regarding the scourge.”

Eleven suspects were arrested during the operation; the suspects are six illegal immigrants, one for possession of
drugs, two illegal gamblers and two suspects for public drinking
