Burgersfort soccer team receive much-needed donations

A local team is grateful to Burgersfort Auto Zone for supplying them with three brand-new soccer balls.

The management at the store officially handed Juventus FC from Ga-Manoke the footballs on Monday.

“Our team is new and has no resources. On August 4 we officially made a request to the store to assist us with the balls. We needed three of them as our club has an U12, U13 and U18 teams. We are grateful to the store for fast-tracking our request,” said a delighted coach, Simon Mathebula.

Auto Zone’s management told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that this was a way of giving back to local communities and also to take the children off the streets, and to encourage them to participate in sport activities.

Juventus management also pleaded for donations such as soccer kits and training bibs for their teams.
