The MEC for co-operative governance, human settlements and traditional affairs, Basikopo Makamu, and Salga’s provincial chairperson, Makoro Mpe, extend congratulatory messages to MLM’s mayor, Minah Bahula, and the municipality for their “true definition of leadership”, for making sure that people on the ground receive services and that the public purse remains accounted for.
MLM received three awards and certificates: one for maintaining its unqualified audit opinion for the fourth year in succession, one for 100% Municipal Infrastructure Grant usage and one for its internal capacity to prepare annual financial statements.
“Our municipality’s insourcing model saves millions in rands that can now be directed towards service delivery priorities,” said Bahula. “Our seriousness in delivering services and our working together with communities are felt throughout and help us to improve on the acceleration of key developmental and sustainable services.”
