Man allegedly stones teen to death in Limpopo
The case was postponed to August 29, for legal representation. He was remanded in custody.
SEKHUKHUNE – Cases of gender-based violence in this region are on the increase.
A 23-year-old man, Confidence Masemola, appeared in the Nebo Magistrate’s Court on Monday after he was
arrested for allegedly killing a 17-year-old girl believed to be his girlfriend on Saturday night, August 20, at about 19:00 in Kome Village.

The case was postponed to August 29, for legal representation. He was remanded in custody.
“The information received by the SAPS suggests that the suspect was walking with the victim in the village when she allegedly received a call. The suspect accused her of cheating on him, and subsequently
stoned her to death,” said Limpopo SAPS’ spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi.
Seabi said the police were called and on arrival at the scene, the victim was found lying on the ground with fatal injuries.
She was identified as Promise Tjatji.
SAPS urges people with relationship problems to seek help from experts and social workers.
Seabi said the family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit had taken over the case for further investigations.
The suspect faces a charge of murder.
